What is the perfect wig for your face? Tips on how to decide.
There are essentially about 6 kinds of faces.
Oval, long, round, heart, pear, square, diamond.
Oval; If you have an oval shaped face which is your face is longer than it is wide with a jaw thats narrower than cheekbones, you have won the face shape lottery. you can wear any style of wigs because your features are near perfect proportions.
Round: The Round Shaped Face is characterized by a wide hairline and fullness below the cheekbones, keep it long and layered. Stick to wigs and hair that covers side of your face so it appears leaner. Add height, when possible, and long, wispy side areas to make the cheeks look narrow. Comb hair close to the head on the sides and at the nape.
Long: The Oblong Shaped Face is characterized by a very long and narrow bone structure. Add width not height. longer hair will tend to drag down your face more. Avoid center parts. They will make your face look longer. Use half-bang across the forehead by creating soft waves or curls in the crown and nape areas. This helps to create the illusion of an oval.
Heart; The Heart Shaped Face is essentially a wider forehead and a narrower chin. Bring some hair onto the forehead to disguise its width. Keep hair close to the head at the eyes, but make it slightly full around the jaw, and below and in front of the earlobes. Loose curls around your face will give the illusion of appearing more oval.
Diamond: The Diamond Shaped Face has a narrow chin and forehead with wide cheekbones. Diamond shaped faces need narrow sides and fullness at the chin. Bobs work very well for this shape. Avoid wearing height on top or volume on the sides.
Square; The Square Shaped Face has a wide hairline and jaw. Square shaped faces need height on top and narrowness at the sides. Comb the hair off the forehead to add height to the face. Square shaped faces have a strong angular feature that gives a confident and sexy appearance but can also appear too boxy. Curly texture and wisps of hair around the face break the wide, straight lines common to the square face.
